These beautiful flower-like pods are perfect for adding a touch of natural beauty to your terrarium or aquarium. Plus, their previous home to the seeds creates a perfect hide away for crustaceans and small shrimp. Each pod measures approx. 4'' in diameter and comes in packs of 3.

Lotus Pods are beautiful in their own right but their effects on the aquarium are also a great reason to make them a new addition to your aquarium!

These seed pods are known to contain 'polyphenols', 'protein' and 'polysaccharides' which are also nutrients with "medicinal" properties for your inhabitants.
Overall, botanicals are used to enrich your aquarium’s overall vitality and offers that natural and textured look to any aquarium scape. Adding botanicals in your aquarium will help mimic your aquatic inhabitant's natural environment, as fruit pods, barks and leaves are found in lakes, streams and rivers all over the planet.

We recommend soaking lotus pods in water prior to introducing them into your aquarium will remove any excess natural debris.

How to Get the 'Tint'

Botanicals can be used in your aquarium to achieve various outcomes. If your enjoy the 'tinted' look, these botanicals will help you get this without hesitation.

We recommend to boil all botanicals for approximately 40 to 60 minutes to clean away any bacteria, dirt and debris. Afterwards, allow your botanicals to sit over night in clean water, rinse, and place into aquarium. If they do not yet sink, you can weigh them down with stones, substrate etc. until they are fully waterlogged.

How to Get Minimal or No 'Tint':

Some Aquascapers prefer to have less of the 'tint affect' in the form of tannins released from botanicals. No problem! Repeat the boiling instructions above. Afterwards, soak botanicals in clean water for 2-3 weeks, ensuring water changes every 2 to 4 days. Once the botanicals are in the aquarium, you may have to do water changes more often depending on your desired level of tint.

All animals come with a healthy arrival guarantee. Animals are shipped with Overnight Delivery wherever possible and using insulated boxes and heat/cool packs (as needed) to ensure safe transit. Shipping is scheduled on specific days to avoid delays and extreme weather. We also offer and highly recommend local depot pick up in your area but we can also ship directly to your home whenever safe to do so.
