Betadine Solution is a must have for Reptile First Aid and Wound care. Betadine can be used to treat and clean minor wounds, blisters and burns on reptiles! We reccomend using this product in conjunction with the Derma Gel Spray or Derma Gel.
Our Procedure For Treating Minor Wounds on Reptiles:
- Place the reptile in a bin/container filled with luke-warm water. Be sure to only fill the water up to chest height or lower to ensure the safety of your reptile! Add a few drops of Betadine Solution to the water to create a light brown color
- Soak the animal in the solution for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the animal and dry off on paper towel. Apply a thin layer of Derma Gel to the affected area.
- Place your animal in a clean enclosure and monitor health until healed. Seek Vet advise if your reptile is experiencing adverse symptoms or not healing!!
- For a stronger direct disinfectant, Betadine 10% can also be used directly on open wound.
Betadine Solution can also be used as a disinfectant for cleaning enclosures!

- All Reptiles staff receive special packing training, ensuring climate-controlled transportation from start to finish.
- A signature is required upon arrival, so someone must be home to receive the shipment.

We spent 2 hours with David, he was super helpful, purchased critter cage, natural materials for the space with a leopard gecko (molten lavender). 1000 live crickets and everything needed to get our new pet Queso set up. Yes, all of our reptiles are checked for good health before being listed for sale. We ensure they’re eating well and displaying normal behaviour. They are checked again before shipping.
You’ll need an appropriate enclosure, heating, lighting, substrate and hides. Food is usually not needed until a few days later. Contact us if you need help setting up the perfect environment.
All animals come with a healthy arrival guarantee. Animals are shipped with Overnight Delivery wherever possible and using insulated boxes and heat/cool packs (as needed) to ensure safe transit. Shipping is scheduled on specific days to avoid delays and extreme weather. We also offer and highly recommend local depot pick up in your area but we can also ship directly to your home whenever safe to do so.
