Veiled Chameleons
Veiled chameleons are arguably the most popular pet within the chameleon category. They are relatively easy to keep and enjoy moderate amounts of handling. Veileds are notoriously solitary creatures and generally need to be housed individually once they approach adulthood. Veiled are well known for their impressive display of the casque that start off as little nubs when they are young and can grow to be 2 inches high as they become older.
Interresting Fact: Veiled Chameleons will often rock their bodies from side to side as a camouflage technique imitating a leaf in the wind. This camouflage technique is a behavioural adaptation rather than the typical colour change technique.
