Three Toed Box Turtle

The three-toed box turtle is a small, high-domed turtle native to the south-central U.S., known for its three toes on each hind foot. Its shell is typically brown or olive with yellow or orange markings, and adults reach about 4.5 to 6 inches in length. Omnivorous and fond of humid woodland habitats, they eat mainly fruits and insects. These turtles have hinged shells for protection and can live over 50 years. They require high quality UVB lighting and moderate heat. An ideal set up for them is a type of swampy half water half land habitat. They have a ton of personality and are a delight to keep as pets!
