Red Foot Tortoise

Red-footed tortoises are medium-sized, colorful tortoises native to South America, particularly in tropical forests and savannas of countries like Venezuela, Brazil, and Colombia. They are known for their distinctive red or orange scales on their limbs, head, and tail, giving them their name. These tortoises are mostly herbivorous but are also known to occasionally eat some proteins. They feed on a mix of leafy greens, fruits, and occasionally small amounts of proteins such as invertebrates, fish, and worms. They are also known to eat carrion in the wild. They make popular pets due to their striking appearance and relatively manageable size.
