Fruit fly cultures are available in 2 species, D. hydei and D. melanogaster. The flies have genetically impaired wing muscles and are flightless. They come in a fully self sustaining container that requires no maintenance. These flightless fruit flies are most popular for dart frogs, mantellas, spiderlings, and hatchling geckos, newts, slamanders, mantids, and other small species lizards.
