"Crazy" Gene Honduran Milksnake
This is a very special and incredibly rare line of Honduran Milksnakes. Below is a description of its history.
The Crazy line aberrant Hondurans were started over 25 years ago by Guy Clark. He started this line predominantly with some Tangerine Dream Hondos that Bill Love made famous years ago. He noticed some funky aberrancies were popping up so he began to hold back the most crazy ones, and now this line carries the ability to make some Crazy looking Milk Snakes indeed. The genetics is not a simple recessive trait so it can be hit and miss.
Some years there are a few exaggerated aberrations, and sometimes they are more subtle. They all have the possibility of producing aberrations, and even the most normal looking ones are some of the best looking Hondos in the hobby.
The Crazy Genes are pure Lampropeltis t. hondurensis (Honduran Milksnakes)... not intergrades.
The Crazy gene appears to be an incomplete dominate gene and first appeared in the late 1990s. It produces some of the most spectacular patterns and colors. You never know what you are going to get with each clutch.... stripe, reverse stripe, pattern less, anaconda, reverse anaconda, blairs saddles, vanishing, reverse bands, strange aberrancies and combinations thereof!
